As I’ve walked this journey of growth and healing, I have come to understand the importance of loving myself in all stages. Not just who I have become or who I hope to be but looking back at who I was and loving her too.
In order to love who I have become, I must extend love and grace towards the woman that brought me to this place. The woman who:
. . . didn’t know how to love herself.
. . . didn’t realize her worth.
. . . lived behind a mask.
. . . lived primarily by fear rather than faith.
. . . lacked self – awareness, self-confidence, and self-respect.
She is also the woman who:
. . . persisted despite the pain.
. . . possessed a grit necessary for survival.
. . . chose to be better not bitter.
. . . chose to seek God in the midst of the chaos.
This woman was imperfect – but without her, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
Extend grace & love towards all of your old self; she helped you get to where you are now.
The woman I am now is imperfect, yet exactly where she needs to be in this moment.
Extend love and grace to all of who you are now; she will propel you into your future self.
Extend love and grace towards yourself now, but also your younger self who never received the love they really needed.
